It’s my birthday today.
in the spirit of crass commercialism I would like to point you to a few places that you can support me and receive in return. I wouldn’t want you to have to send me a cake through the post.
All the money goes to keeping my studio running, thank you.
Kofi – smallest donation, £1. I will give you a sunset photo as a thank you.
Patreon – various levels and rewards.
Phatcomics shop – buy a comic or a tote bag.
Comixology – Digital delights.
Having a studio tidy up today. This is one of a group of works that I’ve not shared, I’ll get round to it sometime. It was actually made just before the recent general election, but it could apply to most situations. I’m 53 in a week and in political terms nothing seems to change. Millions of idiots hand over control and give permission to an elect group of idiots to take a huge shit on them.
Phatcomics and a look back at 2019.
2019 has been a great year. A lot of change, a start that has been really positive. In April I moved from London to Hull. I had lived in London for 35 years, it wasn’t an easy decision.I’m adjusting slowly, but some days I really miss living in the polluted cesspit that was London.
In February I was awarded an Arts Council grant to work on a new project, The Sea Shepherd.
Two major projects have been completed, Necessary Monsters and Black Leather. Last Orders my recent self published work was well received. I took part in a number of exhibitions, at Ground Gallery I exhibited my Sea Shepherd work, including two 10 ft canvasses of marine life. Studio 11 group show had some of my print.I also had my first photo exhibition, as part of the Hip Gallery group show.
I took on a studio space as soon as I arrived in Hull. It’s made an amazing difference to my output. It has also introduced me to some great people, helping ease the feeling of isolation.
I realise how fortunate I am to be in this situation, so try to make the most of it before the funds run out.I found out this morning that I have a place at TCAF 2020, which is fantastic news.
Lastly I would like to thank everyone who has supported me through this year. A lot of people I know are going through some difficult times, and for them to reach out and help me is incredible. I wish for things to improve for you.
Have great New Year’s Eve, and an amazing 2020 !
My application for TCAF 2020 has been accepted.
I love attending TCAF, its a great event, very inspiring.
Plus I get to visit Toronto, a city I have done a lot of walking around.
Happy new year !
